1. The state agency that investigates shootings involving law enforcement officers has determined that two Fairbanks police officers and one Alaska State Trooper were legally justified in fatally shooting a suspect in June.
2. The Arctic Report Card has found a new group of supporters. The news comes after the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration pulled its support for the Arctic Report back in August.
3. The Mukluk Fire burned more than 50 homes and over 7,000 acres in and around the community of Tok. But avenues for providing relief to those affected by the fire are opening up.
4. The Alaska Gasline Development Corp. plans to ask the Alaska State Legislature for additional funding, as the corporation continues its pursuit of a proposed trans-Alaska natural gas pipeline next year.
5. It’s been more than two years since the school in the western Alaska community of Stebbins burned down. The village has hobbled along since then, but the loss of the school is starting to be felt in new ways.
